The Arab Center for Research and Policy Studies and the Doha Institute for Graduate Studies have published the 71st issue of Siyasat Arabiya, a bimonthly peer-reviewed journal of political science and international relations. This issue contains the following articles: "The Rise of Neo-Traditional Marjiʿyya: Political Authority Between Najaf and Iran's Willayat Al-Faqih" by Harith Hassan; "Hybrid Defence for Small States: Strategic Lessons 31 and Implications from Ukraine and Gaza (2014-2024)" by Omar Ashour; "Deep Cultural Genocide in the Israeli War on Gaza: A Cultural-Media Perspective" by Basim Tweissi; "The Rise of Militarization in Sudan: Manifestations, Causes, and Implications" by Bahaeldin Makkawi Mohammed Gaily; and "A Mirror with Two Sides: Authoritarian Populism and Disinformation in Egypt and Tunisia" by Majd Abuamer.The translation section includes Adam Przeworski's " Who Decides What Is Democratic?" translated by Abdou Moussa El-Bermawy. This issue also documents key events in the democratic transition in the Arab world and Palestine over the two-month period from 1 September to 31 October 2024. Additionally, it features Reem Al-Sameai's review of Strategic Hedging in Iran's Policy toward the United States by Ola Rafiq Mansour and Ayman Ibrahim Al-Dessouki.
