The Impossible State: Islam, Politics, and Modernity's Moral Predicament

Abstract

This paper presents a survey of public expenditure in Iraq in 2014. It does this as a means of assessing government performance in a number of key economic and social areas, and the ability of the Baghdad government to manage its own financial resources.
